When You Feel Like A Burden

May 9, 2019

Sometimes we put a smile on our faces even when the pain is deep. We carry about our day pretending that everything is okay. We laugh, we joke, we go out, and we say we are feeling good when people ask, yet we go home and feel alone. We might feel ashamed to ask for help, to tell someone how we really feel, or to show our vulnerability.

So we fight a battle alone because we fear “bothering” those who care for us. You don’t have to fight alone, your people care for you and would rather help you than see you suffer. You are not a burden, you matter, you are enough, and if you ever feel less than, please remember you are not alone. Someone cares enough to talk to you about it, no matter what it is.

Lady Gaga said it best: “we’ve got to take care of each other, so if you see someone that is hurting don’t look away”

Next time you find yourself feeling like a burden repeat these affirmations:

I AM WORTH IT

MY FEELINGS ARE VALID

I CARE ENOUGH ABOUT MYSELF TO ASK FOR HELP

I DESERVE HAPPINESS
